Simply Organized

INBOX ZERO PART IV

Welcome back! I hope that you are doing well, staying healthy, and taking care of yourself! We are going to continue with our goal of reaching Inbox Zero. Last week we created folders by year and placed those emails that go with the folder. For example, all of the 2018 emails went into the “2018 Email” folder, etc.

At this point, you should only have emails from 2021 in your inbox. If not, go back and file away the remainder of the emails that are not 2021. Once you have only 2021 emails in your inbox, we are going to work on those first. Go through your emails one by one. Decide if it is something you need to file, respond to, delete, unsubscribe, or delegate. If you have an email that you need to file, create a folder and file it away. If you have an email that you need to respond to or do something, add this to your to-do list. If you don’t have a to-do list, create one! There are a lot of options out there. Anything from a simple to-do list like "ToDoIst" to ClickUp which is a project management system. Decide on one that works best for you. Once you have added it to your to-do list, either archive the email, delete it or file it away. If you have an email that you need to delete, delete it. If you have an email you need to unsubscribe to, quickly unsubscribe while you are in the email then delete the email. And finally, if you need to delegate an email either forward it to whomever you need to delegate to or whatever your process is for delegating. You could have a lot of emails for 2021 even though we just started the year, but just take it slowly moving through one email at a time. Once you get all of your 2021 emails cleared out and up to date you will feel so much better! So much more organized!

After you have gone through your 2021 emails, it’s time to go through the other year's emails. Start with 2020 emails and do the same thing you did with the 2021 emails. Then the 2019 emails, etc. until you have gone through ALL of your emails.

How does that feel????? It feels good right???!!! That’s a lot of work, good job on completing it!

That’s it for today! Next week we will wrap up our Inbox Zero conversation with additional tips on keeping your emails at Inbox Zero! I’ll give you tips on some automation so you have less to do!

I know I’ve been updating you here on the new ClickUp Private Practice Business Hub and I wanted to let you know that it will be available on March 22nd! That’s next week! I can’t wait for you to see it! If you have any questions about it, don’t hesitate to reach out.

Until next time, take care of yourself!

Kim
